The unit in the attic room died in the second week of August, which is the worst week for it to die. The house was let, so we bought the replacement that afternoon from the place on Broad and fitted it before six.
It is a 8,000 BTU inverter unit, quieter than the old one, and on the two hottest afternoons since it has held the room at 78°F rather than 82°F. That is better and it is still the warmest room in the house, which is why the attic room is the one we leave empty for parties of six.
The guests that week had two of the four nights with the old unit. We took $90 off the stay without being asked.
