Two weeks in July came free
A booking fell through for the third and the tenth. They are back on the calendar at the ordinary summer rate.

Can we check in early or leave late?
Check-in is after 16:00 because the cleaner needs the morning, and on a changeover Saturday she needs all of it. If the house is empty the night before we will usually say yes to noon, and we can only know that in the week before you come. Bags can be left in the hall from 11:00 on the day you leave.

The attic window unit gave up, and what we put in
The old unit held 82°F on a bad day. The new one holds 78°F and costs us $41 a month more to run.

The lodging tax went up in July, and your bill went up with it
Richmond's lodging tax moved from 7% to 8%. On a seven-night stay in October that is $22 more.

January and February are quiet and the house does better full at $185 than empty at $265.
